Them Heavy People are a Kate Bush tribute band made up of Nadine Turner, Dave Corsie, Brendan Yates, Stuart Pickett and Charlie Smith. Since 2016, the band have been attentively rehearsing to deliver an accurate performance in the style of Kate Bush. Vocalist Nadine Turner has been passionate about music as early as five years old, her particular childhood favourite being Kate Bush, therefore she is extremely familiar with her style of singing and music. Her venture to become a singer began in 2005 when she set up her own karaoke business.
After a few performances, Nadine was headhunted by a theatre company who asked her to audition for their upcoming musical at The Prince of Wales Theatre. She was offered the leading role in ‘Masquerade’ and many other roles following that. In 2010, Nadine then formed a singing trio called The Rubys, who travelled around pubs and clubs within Staffordshire and the Midlands, this is where she began singing the odd Kate Bush song and discovered her resembling vocals.
She’s now accompanied by a guitarist, drummer bass, keyboard player with over 30 years experience, all of which have gone to great lengths to perfect their music. Nadine’s voice is amazingly comparable to the 80’s singer and is complemented by a fantastic band who deliver a professional sound that closely resembles Kate’s backing tracks, they even use samples from the original records to ensure authenticity.
Them Heavy People have toured around the UK to venues such as Lichfield Garrick Theatre and Tribfest Musical Festival. During the set, they create a strong visual element by projecting photos of Kate Bush as their background and wearing some of Kate’s most iconic outfits to really bring the show to life.
With real enthusiasm and energy, Them Heavy People make the most effort to make you believe you were at a real Kate Bush concert.
