Andrew Lawrence's unique take on the world and his life in conjunction with it is fresh and exciting, while his political and cultural commentary is out of the box and contentious. Andrew is unafraid of pushing boundaries and that is what makes his act as a stand-up comedian one of the most stirring around.
Andrew can rouse a crowd with his passionate and clever inspection of his own life and current affairs. His shockingly sharp punchlines and knife-edge humour leave audiences in stitches.
Lawrence university debut led to the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was runner-up in 2003's So You Think You’re Funny competition. Subsequently, he won the Amused Moose Starsearch, York Comedy Festival’s New Act of the Year competition and the BBC’s New Act of the Year Competition in 2004.
Lawrence presented his first hour-long comedy show at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe entitled How to Butcher your Loved Ones. It was nominated for the if.Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. Lawrence’s 2007 Fringe show, Social Leprosy For Beginners & Improvers, was nominated for the if.Comedy Award. He has returned to the Fringe every year up to 2015.
Having become a star at the Edinburgh Fringe, Andrew has grown a reputation as a ‘darkly enjoyable act’ - one that paints himself as something of a delinquent - a master of the dark arts and an act without limits. Where Andrew does not conform, he does delight with his unruffled and completely composed act, delivering his punchlines with a direct conciseness.
Andrew has embarked on regular UK tours and became a prominent personality on stand up television shows. He appeared on BBC One’s Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow, recorded two series of BBC Radio Four show What To Do If You’re Not Like Everybody Else.
He appeared on Live At The Apollo, consistently on Stand Up For The Week and many more hit comedy series’. Lawrence has performed abroad at the Just For Laughs Montreal Festival Showcase and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
In 2016 he took his fifth national tour, Andrew Lawrence: Uncensored across the country following his literary debut, Reasons To Kill Yourself, a self-help satire book in 2015.
For something a little different, a little more daring for your corporate events, private parties, stage shows and comedy festival entertainment - comedian Andrew Lawrence is a perfect choice.
