Status Quo are a rock band who turned heads for five decades from the 60s and continue to have a loyal following today. Their talents have seen them secure 22 UK Top 10 singles and a remarkable 57 UK Top 40 singles.
By the summer of 69, the band had been through three name changes before they stuck with Status Quo, a name that would never be forgotten in musical history. While the band have seen a few line-up changes in their time, most recently with the loss of Rick Parfitt in 2016 who succumbed to illness after 49 years of writing for and leading the band - the distinctive sound remains untouched.
Their hit show brought a sell out crowd at Knebworth in 1986 as they were on the bill for the Knebworth Festival. In the last ever gig of another monumental show band, Queen. The extreme success of their Knebworth performance and the memories of their hit song, Rockin' All Over the World flying through the crowd saw them invited back four years later to do it all over again, this time as headliners.
Now older and wiser, Status Quo are one of those rock bands who mature with age, rather than deteriorate. That Bluesy, rock and roll sound which was coined Boogie Rock bursts from a stage with a roaring power that sends shockwaves through a crowd. With Status Quo, it is clear to everyone in attendance, they are watching a special band.
Their live performance at Download Festival in 2014 cemented their status as rock heavyweights to this day and their album from the same year earned them a UK number 5 album. It was later certified Gold and brought them an outrageous 500th week in the UK Album Charts.
Now the band lineup with Francis Rossi, Andy Brown, John "Rhino" Edwards, Leon Cave and Richie Malone to deliver the transformative songs of the Status Quo songbook.
