One of the most well-know rock stars of the 1990s, Liam Gallagher is best known for his role in legendary British band, Oasis. Singing alongside his brother, Noel Gallagher, the iconic duo have released some of the UK’s best-known songs, including ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’.
Hailing from Manchester, Gallagher is known for his erratic behaviour, distinctive singing style and abrasive attitude and has been the subject of commentary in the press. Liam Gallagher remains one of the most recognisable figures within the music industry.
Once the band had acquired a record contract, they released their debut album: Definitely Maybe. The album quickly became the fastest selling British debut album ever and Liam was praised for his unique vocal contributions to the album.
After seeing the success of Definitely Maybe, the band then recorded their second album, entitled ‘What’s The Story, Morning Glory?’. This was another hugely successful album, becoming the third-best selling album in British history- a huge achievement for anybody to achieve.
With the band’s success and talent for both singing and songwriting, the Gallagher brothers announced a third album, that was hugely anticipated and released in August of 1997. Titled ‘Be Here Now’, the album set a new record as the fastest selling album in UK Chart history, and was described by Liam himself as a ‘top record’.
Having years of success and performing in front of thousands of people in concerts, there is no arguing that Oasis were hugely popular amongst UK music fans, selling out many concerts, gigs and winning multiple awards.
In November of 2009, Gallagher announced that he and former Oasis band members had written new material as part of a new project, and could be gigging as early as a couple of months under the name of ‘Beady Eye’. After two albums seeing popularity amongst both Oasis and music fans in general, the band split in late 2014.
Now back on the rock ‘n’ roll scene, Liam Gallagher released his debut solo album in October of 2017, entitled ‘As You Were’. A hugely anticipated album, 2017 has seen the likes of Gallagher perform multiple gigs, announce a winter tour and play at the One Love Manchester concert.
