Sam Bailey, who won X Factor in 2013, is to be the headline act at Leicester Pride 2015, performing in front of around 10,000 people. Sam, who is available to book exclusively through Champions Music & Entertainment for large corporate events and functions, will take to the main stage on Saturday, 5 September, at Victoria Park in Leicester.
Leicester Pride is the city’s annual festival for promoting equality and diversity, advancing education and eliminating discrimination for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. The festival runs for nine days and features various events relating to art, culture, sport, music and film.
Sam will be performing songs from her number one album The Power Of Love, which sold over 215,000 copies, as well as other tunes. These include her chart-topping single Skyscraper and her other singles, Compass and With You.
Sam, whose voice Gary Barlow called “incredible”, is Leicester through and through. She lives in the area, loves Leicester City Football Club and recently performed on stage with legendary singer Engelbert Humperdinck, who also lives in Leicester.
Leicester Pride Chairman Martyn Parker said: “Myself and the whole team are very excited to be welcoming Sam Bailey on to the main stage in her home town for 2015.”
And Sam told the Leicester Mercury: “I’m really looking forward to performing in my home town and what better event to sing at than Leicester Pride. It will be a fantastic day and I am proud to be part of something that celebrates the gay community in Leicester.”
