Christmas is upon us, but what is there to do between making your new year’s resolutions and burning off all the mince pies you have eaten?  Champions Music and Entertainment, have you covered with some of the top places to celebrate your New Year!

Edinburgh's Hogmanay

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay

Where? Edinburgh’s City Centre

Scotland’s capital is the perfect place to bring in the New Year with Hogmanay, an event which runs over three days, starting on the 30th December and finishing on the 1st of January. The event has been recognised as one of the ‘Top 100 things to do before you die’.

This year you can expect huge acts including Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and The Human League. Wrap up warm for the occasion and enjoy the many events on offer from the Torchlight Procession to the ‘Concert in the Garden’. Ensure you make time to attend Loony Dook on the 1st January. Have a splash in the freezing River Forth, but make sure you bring a warm change of clothes!

Take a look at the website for more information and to book tickets.

St Ives Fancy Dress and Fireworks

Where? Harbour Front

St Ives probably isn’t the first idea that comes to mind when celebrating the New Year, however with thousands in attendance, this small, Cornish town has earned its title as the biggest fancy-dress party in Cornwall.

The town (and beach) becomes a huge street party with everybody in fancy dress. Plus, the local charity shops have a great selection of costumes for those who’ve forgotten!

Manchester Warehouse Project

The Warehouse Project Manchester

Where? Store Street Car Park

Looking for a lively event? Manchester’s Warehouse Project is the place to go.

The event features the finest artists from the world of house and techno. The event is located underneath the railway arches of Manchester Piccadilly Train Station.

The line-up for this year’s event includes huge names such as Hannah Wants, Disciples, Low Steppa and Friend Within, to name but a few.

The minimum age for the event is 18 and you can book tickets through Skiddle.

Where? Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Stonehaven has a unique way of marking the new year so if you’re after something different you’re in the right place. As midnight strikes a large group of men and women parade the High Street ferociously swinging flaming balls above their heads. A tradition that dates back hundreds of years and one that is said to scare away bad spirits.

The Lake District

Buttermere, The Lake District, Cumbria, England

The Lake District

The Lake District is the perfect location for a more laid back New Year’s Eve escape, so why not immerse yourself in the idyllic scenic views and mountain landscape for miles.
