It’s hard to believe that this staple of the UK festival scene began as an offshoot to the Liverpool nightclub Creams in 1998. Now based the Cheshire countryside over the August bank holiday weekend, it sees thousands of revellers descend on its fields every year.

Now with international editions in four different continents this year Creamfields has once again produced an extremely impressive line-up. With stunning pyrotechnics and visuals to go alongside the music Creamfields may not be the biggest but they are certainly one of the best.

Reading & Leeds festival

Where: Reading & Leeds

When: 25-27 August

Who: Eminem, Kasabian, Muse

The Carling Weekend: Reading Festival - Saturday

The origins of this festival can be traced back as far as the 1950s and is unique in the sense that they both take place simultaneously and feature the same line-ups. With Reading being the senior of the two it also holds the honour of being the oldest music festival in the world.

Thousands of people descend on the festivals every year to witness the very best acts on offer in the rock, indie, metal and alternative genres. With rap star Eminem, back in 2017 to headline for a third time, this year’s event is sure to be bigger than ever with more than 150,000 people anticipated to attend the two festivals.
