An award-winning DJ who is best known for his unbeatable selections of reggae and dancehall music. David has played on all the top named stations from Capital and Kiss to Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio 2 and won some of the most prestigious awards in the reggae industry including the World Clash Re-Set contest. Beginning his career in reggae broadcasting on BBC Radio London before moving to Capital Radio in 1979 where he broadcast the legendary Roots Rockers show every Saturday night for eleven years. David gained his legendary reputation when he began clashing with Barry G who was Jamaica's champion DJ which led to him clashing with all major Jamaican sound systems in the USA, England and the West Indies.
In 2012 he took the Champion Trophy at World Clash Reset in New York which became the ultimate clash victory. This is the highest honour in reggae sound system culture especially since he beat well established DJ's including Black Kat, Bass Odyssey, Fire Links, Matterhorn, Poison Dart and Earth Ruler. His next career move saw him join the BBC in 2013 to present a brand new weekly reggae show on Radio 1Xtra between 7 and 9pm on Sundays at the same time he presented a summer season of reggae, classic ska and rock steady on BBC Radio 2.

Playing his unique collection extensively across Europe, especially in Italy and Germany, and in North America and the West Indies. David has seen huge recognition and won three highly coveted Sony Radio Academy Gold Awards which included The Specialist Music Broadcaster Of The Year and The Music Broadcaster Of The Year. In 2005 he was also inducted into the Sony Radio Academy Hall Of Fame followed by a huge honour in 2012 when he was awarded an MBE for his services to Broadcasting.
