Galileo is not just another Queen tribute act; it is a world-class celebration of Freddie Mercury’s enduring legacy and the timeless music of Queen. While many tributes seek to imitate, Galileo takes a different approach: assembling an elite group of professional musicians who honour Queen’s artistry with passion, precision, and authenticity. The result is a powerful, heartfelt performance that goes far beyond imitation, capturing the true spirit, energy, and theatricality of one of the greatest bands in history.
At the heart of the show is Joe Cash, a dynamic lead vocalist renowned for his commanding stage presence and uncanny ability to channel Freddie Mercury’s charisma and power. With credits including West End performances as Galileo Figaro in We Will Rock You and a memorable appearance as Freddie on ITV’s Starstruck, Joe’s credentials speak for themselves. His talent was further recognised when he was hand-picked to perform at Freddie Mercury’s official birthday celebration in Montreux, a rare honour for any performer.
He is joined by an exceptional line-up of musicians. Mickey Richards on drums has played on ten chart-topping albums and performed everywhere from London’s West End to West Hollywood, previously managed by E Street Band’s Steve Van Zandt. Richard Ashford, lead guitarist, has spent over 30 years as a professional musician, including 12 years portraying Brian May in theatre productions across the UK and Europe. Ben Parkinson, on keyboards, is a classically trained pianist with over 15 years in tribute productions, including Abba, Bon Jovi, and Queen. Completing the line-up is Russ Ashford on bass, a seasoned performer of over 25 years who has toured globally, from Miami to Berlin and Switzerland.
Collectively, the band members have graced stages in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, from London’s West End and the O2 Arena to international theatres. Together, they have performed in respected Queen tributes such as We Will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga, Pure Queen, QE2, and Mercury. With unmatched musicality and authenticity, Galileo deliver more than a show; they offer an exhilarating, emotional celebration of Queen’s music that continues to captivate audiences around the world.
