Born and raised in Belfast, Gareth Dunlop is a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and producer whose music has been sync‑licensed across radio, TV, film, and commercials. He began releasing well-received EPs like Devil Mocks Me and How Far This Road Goes, eventually catching the attention of Nashville after winning Young Songwriter of the Year in Belfast in 2011. His song “Wrap Your Arms Around Me” was included on the Safe Haven soundtrack in 2013 and several of his songs have since appeared in shows like Nashville, Lucifer, This Is Us, and Suits. As a staff writer in Nashville, he’s penned songs for Tim McGraw & Faith Hill and co‑written with John Oates.
In 2024, Gareth released the album Welcome to the House of I Don’t Know, a lush, richly produced journey rooted in nostalgia, home, and emotional reconnection. Drawing on the comforts of love and memories of home, the album combines full-band, dramatic 80s‑tinged pop‑rock with intimate Americana. More recently, he released Animal in 2022—recorded at his own Sycamore Studios in Belfast—which further blends soulful vocals, folk‑pop and electronic textures.
A commanding live performer, Gareth has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, and North America, supporting artists as diverse as Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Snow Patrol, Bonnie Raitt, and the Stereophonics. Booked by Midnight Mango (excluding North America), he’s billed at major festivals like The British Country Music Festival 2025, where promoters described him as “one to watch” with an unwaveringly authentic live presence. Today, Gareth remains grounded by his Northern Irish roots even as he splits his time between Belfast and Nashville—crafting emotionally rich songs that resonate deeply across both shores.
