Following in the footsteps of the Godfather of Soul is no small feat and D’Angelo has the musical pedigree to back it up. James Brown needs no introduction. From a rough upbringing in Alberta to performing on some of the world’s greatest stages, James Brown has admirers in high places. James Brown brought an energy unlike any other and once reassured an audience:
“If you ain’t got enough soul, let me know. I’ll loan you some! Huh! I got enough soul to burn.” D’Angelo is no stranger to the demands of a famous musician, touring the UK and Europe with his brothers and uncles, they supported the likes of Gladys Knight and the Pips, Ben E. King, Edwin Starr, and The Commodores. Along with this D’Angelo and his live band, Marks Brothers, secured recording contracts and made a series of broadcast appearances. The Marks Brothers reached lofty heights with an album produced by the Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
Buzz D’Angelo has since moved onto a solo career with performances at festivals, on cruise ships, at private parties, on television, and in theatres. D’Angelo’s shows are held in high esteem and keep him travelling all over the world. With a strong, soulful voice and dance moves to get the crowd jiving, D’Angelo is sure to keep your guests entertained all night.
Supporting D’Angelo is his own Georgia All Star Band, an eight-piece live backing band. Nothing compares to the enveloping sound of a live band. With brazen brass, screeching guitars, and warm bass, any event will feel the funk and boogie all night long. Add to this quintessential backing vocals and you’re transported back to a time when the hair was big, the clothes were bright, and the music was genre-defining. This coupled with D’Angelo’s costumes, showmanship, and voice make it a must for any event.
With all of this in mind, how could you pass up the opportunity to have a true funk legend come to life at your event?
