Born and raised in Birmingham Abi hails from a musical family. From a young age, she was enthralled by singing and songwriting and eventually found her big break in 2011. At the tender age of 16 she was inspired by one of the character's struggles with cervical cancer and wrote a touching song entitled ‘Missing You'. The song was featured on an episode of Hollyoaks and provided the perfect tone for the moment. Fans flooded executives with calls to include Abi in the show and she eventually was invited to audition for the role of Liberty Savage.
Abi played the role for three years and won the hearts of fans and critics alike. Alongside her work on television, Abi developed a successful music career. From the age of 12, she regularly performed at wedding receptions and club nights in the family band Shampoo. More recently she fronted and toured with the premier corporate event band Capital Groove performing for large corporate celebrations. As a solo artist, she has performed at The Pride of Birmingham Awards, Paradise Wildlife Park, Children in Need benefits and Kensington Roof Garden.
The acoustic artist even appeared on The Voice UK and was touted by the Daily Mail to be ‘one of the five talented young actresses destined to become tomorrow's superstars'. Abi has used her profile to aid charities and non-profit organisations. In 2012, along with other Hollyoaks stars she successfully completed a sponsored sleep-out to raise funds for Centrepoint. A year later Abi toured primary schools in the West Midlands to talk to students about the effects of bullying from personal experience.
Her campaign was the subject of national coverage with the BBC, ITV, radio stations, and the Daily Mail documenting her campaign. A talented singer-songwriter she released her debut single ‘Summer Sunshine' featuring popular British rapper Fugative. The official music video was a huge hit and has over 400,000 views on Youtube.
