Ben was a former member of four-piece British-Norweigan boy band A1 the band consisted of Ben, Paul Marazzi, Mark Read and Christian Ingebrigsten. The band had huge success from winning a BRIT Award in 2001 for Best Newcomer to releasing two number one singles, Same Old Brand New You and Take On Me. While part of the band Adam received a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party Award for Most Fanciable Male in 2001. A1 separated in 2002. Seven years later, in 2009, it was announced that A1 would reform to represent Norway in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.
Following this A1 resigned from Universal Music Group and recorded a further two studio albums. With Ben Waiting For Daylight and Rediscovered. 2018 saw the band go on an international tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Ben made a comeback in the music industry as a soloist following a couple of years writing and developing his music. Now signed with BMG Records he released his first solo single Sorry which peaked at number eighteen on the UK Singles Chart in 2005.
Not only was Ben writing for himself but he also wrote and produced for JLS, Robin Thicke, Sam Bailey, Craig David, Union J, Amelia Lily, Markus Feehily and Alexandra Burke to name a few. With his own recording studio called Archer Studios Ben has become the creative director behind What Jane Did Next, Kissing Freddie and MEOW. He also took part in Celebrity Big Brother 2009, revealing he had worked on songs for X Factor winner, Alexandra Burke.
