Javier Jarquin is a seasoned performer and multi-talented artist known for his outstanding comedy work, martial arts card throwing and cabaret performances. With over 600 performances across 27 countries, the highly experienced artist is very well respected in the comedy circuit and has shared the stage with leading comedians, such as Jimmy Carr, Stewart Lee, Paul Daniels, and Jo Brand.
Raised in New Zealand to Latin- American/Chinese parents, Javier’s comedy is based on his unique perspective and insight on life as someone from an immigrant background. Since launching his career in 2007, he has rapidly established himself as a skilled performer, going on to win the So You Think You’re Funny competition in his first year. He went on to become the longest-running member of the improv comedy show Scared Scriptless, gaining valuable improv experience before moving to the UK in 2010.
In his live comedy performances, Javier’s alias The Card Ninja is one of his most popular acts, filling theatres and selling out shows at Fringe Festivals, such as Boring AF, Improv the MARVEL-verse, Hombre Al Dente, Comedy Death, Joke Ninja and Bullets Before Bedtime. The accomplished artist has also won multiple awards for his distinguished performances, including Best Show at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and Best National Artist at the World Buskers Festival.
Besides his comedy shows, Javier is renowned for his mind-blowing martial arts card-throwing act and theatrical virtuosity as a cabaret performer. Moreover, he has made appearances on TV shows, including What Now and ITV’s Red or Black. He was also involved in the Unbelievable campaign for Pepsi Max.
