Jimmy attended the same school as Cliff Richard in Chestnut Hertfordshire and lived in the same housing estate as Cliff in Bury Green. His first live show at the age of 15 was at school in 1976 with his band Silver Wings Jimmy was elated to have been on the same bill that night with Sir Cliff. Cliff even let Jimmy use his Gold-Plated microphone. The first recording Jimmy ever did was a record called The Push Button Click, this record sold very well at Butlins camps and he was asked to record another called The Names Push.
His achievements have been winning on TVs Stars In Their Eyes, then going on to appear on Stars In Their Eyes Christmas Specials. Jimmy has also featured in a film on TV in 2006, alongside Martin Freeman and Olivia Colman called Confetti, where he plays a stand-in for Sir Cliff Richard. Another Highlight was Performing as Sir Cliff in Cliff the Musical at London’s West End Prince Of Wales Theatre. In 2019 Jimmy is celebrating 30 wonderful years of performing the songs of Cliff and The Shadows. Jimmy was also recognised at the Champions UK National Tribute Act Awards, where Jimmy received the biggest award of the night- the Lifetimes Achievement Award.
