Kate Barron is a bold, award-winning stand-up comedian whose raw honesty, magnetic stage presence and fearless storytelling have made her a rising star on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Vancouver, Kate began her comedic journey while working as a high-end international art dealer in Toronto - an unconventional start that set the tone for her unique and authentic voice in comedy. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the first woman to win the Toronto Comedy Brawl, beating out over 400 comedians in the process.
Now based in London, Kate has taken the UK comedy scene by storm. She has performed at prestigious venues including The Comedy Store, Top Secret Comedy Club, Komedia, and the Soho Theatre, where her debut solo show, ‘Losing Myself’, enjoyed a sold-out run. The show was named an official pick of the Fringe by British Comedy Guide and won Best Debut Show by Entertainment Now. She’s also been featured in top festivals such as Just For Laughs (JFL42), Zoofest, NXNE, and HBO’s Women in Comedy Festival.
Kate is an accomplished writer and podcaster, with bylines in The Toronto Star, Chortle, and The Herald Scotland. Her podcasts, ‘You’ve Changed’ and ‘Text Me in the Morning’ (co-hosted with TV presenter Andrew Mensah), showcase her versatility and conversational wit, further cementing her reputation as a compelling voice in comedy and beyond. She has also opened for high-profile acts such as Axel Blake, Sam Jay, Chris Redd, and James Adomian.
In addition to her stand-up and media work, Kate is an engaging corporate facilitator. Her Storytelling for Business workshop helps professionals refine their presentation and sales techniques using the power of comedy and narrative. Whether for a corporate function, festival stage, or private event, Kate brings originality, warmth and world-class comedic timing to every performance.
