Leona Marie is an award-winning classical crossover vocalist and ceremonial performer renowned for her extraordinary versatility, powerful three octave range and captivating stage presence. Based in Glasgow, Leona is one of the UK’s few truly multi-disciplined singers, seamlessly performing opera, pop, jazz, gospel, musical theatre and Celtic music within a single show. A highly sought-after entertainer for weddings, corporate events, sporting occasions and award ceremonies, she is celebrated for delivering elegant and emotionally charged performances that captivate audiences. Whether performing with a live string quartet, organist, guitarist or backing track, Leona tailors every performance to suit the atmosphere, style and scale of each event.
Leona first trained in Musical Theatre at Motherwell College before launching a successful pop career as part of the girl band 'Lemonescent'. During her time with the group, they achieved four UK Top 40 hits and toured alongside major artists including Atomic Kitten and Blue. Her solo career continued to flourish as she earned acclaim for her classical crossover performances, leading to opportunities supporting stars such as Kylie Minogue, Peter Andre and Lulu. Simon Cowell famously described her voice as “stunning” during her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, while Hello Magazine referred to her as an “opera singer to the stars”. Alongside her music career, Leona has also appeared as a vocal judge on BBC One’s All Together Now.
As a live performer, Leona is known for her breathtaking renditions of both classical masterpieces and modern favourites. Her extensive repertoire includes 'Nessun Dorma', 'Time To Say Goodbye', 'Ave Maria', 'Pie Jesu', 'Never Enough' and 'Somewhere' from West Side Story. Equally comfortable performing operatic arias from Puccini and Madame Butterfly as she is delivering musical theatre classics and contemporary hits, Leona creates bespoke performances for every audience. She has entertained troops in Iraq, opened games at Hampden Park and performed at prestigious venues including St Giles’ Cathedral, Turnberry and Glasgow University Chapel.
Beyond her solo work, Leona has built an impressive theatre and television career. Her musical theatre credits include roles in Rent, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Broadway Divas UK Tour and Circus of Horrors, alongside performances in Wonderful West End, Boogie Nights and Diamonds are for Eric. She has also appeared on Top of the Pops, The Saturday Show, Come Dine With Me and The Box Music.
