Margaret Keys is a soprano singer from Derry, Northern Ireland. From a young age, it was clear Margaret would lead a career on stage. She began singing as early as 4 years old and was quickly recognised as a future star by music professionals. Margaret has gone on to perform all around the globe with world-leading orchestras and performers.
At 15, Margaret was awarded the Trinity College of London Gold Medal for her outstanding talent, being named the best overall performer in the graded examinations. Her profile continued to develop as she gained recognition from the prestigious Royal Scottish Conservatoire of Music and Drama. It was here that she earned a scholarship, going on to achieve a First-Class Honours Degree in Music Education and a master’s degree in Vocal Performance.
Following her graduation, Margaret signed a recording contract with Universal Records Australia being personally endorsed by the CEO of the company. Her ability and presence were further established following her performance to 35,000 people in a special concert for Pope Francis. The concert was made up of selected talents that aired to an audience of 1.5 million globally. Her ongoing success is highly admirable and her career is one that continually impresses on the biggest stages. This was further displayed when she performed at the Royal Albert Hall in ‘Christmas with Stars’ produced by BBC Radio 2 and the TV Times. Her astonishing performance saw her invited back to perform in the Christmas Concert Special in 2016. Margaret Keys possesses a voice powerful enough to amaze any audience. In 2018, she released the album ‘’The Gift of Music’’ which was undoubtedly a success rising to #2 in the Official Classical and Classic FM Charts placing her above many world-famous artists.
Outside of her personal success on the stage, Margaret is an advocate of the importance of arts and their ability to have a positive impact on young people. Her passion in this area has led to her becoming the sole Irish Ambassador for HRH Prince’s Foundation for Children & Arts. Margaret holds significant prowess amongst the classical genre and her performances are never short of magnificent. She has performed with some of the most notable orchestras to high-profile guests such as Barack and Michelle Obama.
