Having been a Grumbleweed right from the start and for the following 40 years, his time with the Weeds was very exciting. From the early days as a beat group to the Cabaret days, which led them to the BBC where their award-winning Radio series ran for seventeen years on Radio 2. Granada TV picked up on this and the legendary Johnnie Hamp signed them up for their own Sat Night TV Series, which ran for five years. Maurice has also headlined summer shows in all the main resorts and at the London Palladium, other TV shows were live from Her Majesty's The Junior Royal Command. Throughout the years, Maurice has also performed at every Cabaret venue across the UK.
In his solo career, he has spent several years entertaining cruise ship guests on the high seas, a consummate performer for cruise lines such as P&O and Marella to name but a few. Travelling across the globe with his talent, Maurice has earned an international following and continues to be sought for performances at present.
Maurice has spent years writing his own songs, releasing an album with an Indie record label and currently working on more raw Blues tracks. When he is not writing music, Maurice has authored the autobiography Grumblin and Crusin Through Life and World Watching with Maurice Grumbleweed, in which he has portrayed his talents as an avid artist- drawing and painting sketches from his travels.
