Nina Conti's penchant for cheeky jabs, fun guest interaction and edgy humour makes for hysterical, immersive live shows. Nina is excellent at group engagement, immersing crowds big or small. A master of the voices of her dummies, Nina Conti is a quick-witted and professional famous comedian. Her jaunt in show business began as an actress where she appeared in productions such as The Warp and Finding Bin Laden, as well as television shows such as Black Books, Holby City and Single.
Nina soon branched out into live comedy and excelled from the outset, winning the BBC New Comedy Awards and finishing in the top three in both the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year and the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competitions. Such was Nina’s comic talent that ventriloquism soon became her primary vocation; her performances alongside the foul-mouthed monkey Monk and the heart-warming Granny earned no end of plaudits.
Her piece de resistance came in the form of her innovative face mask that allows her to control both its motion and sound, making it possible for wearers to ‘say’ literally anything. Debuting this in 2012, she gave none other than Prince Harry the dummy treatment. Her accolades have come thick and fast throughout her time on television and Nina has appeared on some of the country’s biggest talk shows, quizzes and comedy programmes. She has presented Live At The Apollo and has appeared on QI, The Rob Brydon Show, 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown, Loose Women and John Bishop’s Christmas Show. She has clocked up 46 television appearances and acting credits.
She has also had success in writing, directing and producing and has created and released two documentaries, Her Master’s Voice and Nina Conti: Talk to the Hand. She has had experience as an actress in plays and she acted in Back to Methuselah in a Royal Shakespeare Company production. Nina prides herself on the diversity and flexibility of her act. She can tone down Monk’s antics for more sedate audiences, whilst the raucous and innovative humour that comes so naturally to her as a comedian is always popular with livelier audiences and wedding guests. Adaptable, professional and outright entertaining, Nina is the perfect choice for corporate events and television shows.
