Formed in 2002 by lead singer and guitarist Johnny Borrell the groups current line up consists of guitarist Dave Ellis, bassist Harry Deacon and drummer David Sullivan Kaplan. Their second album Razorlight had great success following its release in July 2006 and debuted at number one in the UK Albums Chart. The lead single from this album which was In the Morning peaked at number three becoming their third biggest single to date after America at number one and Somewhere Else at number two.
Razorlight have played amongst many music legends a stand out one being when they supported Queen and Paul Rodgers in front of sixty thousand people, amazingly the same year they also supported Oasis at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. Towards the end of the year they performed at gigs in Paris and Cologne to support The Rolling Stones. 2006 saw the band perform their biggest ever tour along with supporting Richard Ascroft at the Lancashire County Cricket Club for his homecoming gig.
The band have headlined both Leeds and Reading in 2007 followed by performing on Main Stage for Radio 1's Big Weekend alongside Kaiser Chiefs and Kasabian. Razorlights success only grew throughout 2007 as they were invited to perform at Wembley Stadium in London and T in the Park in Balado Scotland.
Razorlight have seen huge recognition throughout their career in the music scene from two BRIT Award nominations for Best British Band and Best Song to receiving two NME BRIT Award nominations for Best Album and Best Band.
