In 2014, Richard worked with Andy Serkis doing motion capture work to create the physical vocabulary for ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Ultron’ for the film ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron.’ He was also the personal mime tutor for Carey Mulligan for the feature film ‘Suffragette’ and was a physical comedy consultant for the RSC ‘Arden of Faversham’. He was a personal tutor for Ben Cohen and Kristina on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2013 and appeared as a Mime artist and body language expert for James May’s ‘Man Lab’ for the BBC.
His other performances include: in front of an audience of 10,000 people at Wembley Arena; numerous trade shows in London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai and Dublin; the 2012 Olympic Games to the more recent Rugby World Cup in Twickenham, 2015. He has performed at every type of corporate event in every style of performance; from Charity events to opening ceremonies, promotions, stage shows, meet & greet and private A-List celebrity parties.
Richard has taught physical comedy at The National Theatre, was a slow motion expert on Tim Burton’s ‘Sweeney Todd’ and has taught, directed and performed all over the world, examples of which include: the Royal Family’s of Dubai, Qatar and Buckingham Palace, The Royal College of Music, The Royal School of Art, both Oxford and Cambridge Universities and many of the UK’s top Drama Schools.
Richard originally trained as a Drama Specialist (B.Ed), and came to the UK to train at LAMDA where he received funding for his training from actors such as Sir John Gielgud. Richard went on to develop his performance, acting, mime and comedy skills with Jacques Lecoq, Philipe Gaulier and Antonio Fava.
He continues to teach, direct and perform all over the world with his Theatre Company ‘MIME THE GAP.’ He co-devised an hour long mime theatre show in 2017 ‘Trapped in My Mime,’ with a female mime artist which received outstanding audience reviews, and published his book: ‘Mime the Gap – Techniques in Mime and Movement’ with Crowood Press in 2018. He currently is HEAD OF MOVEMENT at the Vienna English Theatre Academy.
