Rod Woodward is a talented Welsh comedian with a knack for storytelling. Available through the Champions Music and Entertainment agency, he is the ideal entertainment for private, corporate, or public functions. With a childhood dream of being a stand-up comedian, Rod Woodward, son of Welsh sports writer Keith Woodward, assumed he would follow in his father’s footsteps. A chance encounter, however, gave Rod the opportunity to act as the warm-up act and comedy speaker for Welsh TV talk shows and provided him with the chance to hone his talent and build his fan base.
Rod took a year break from his studies at university to chase his dream and soon found himself touring across Wales performing at pubs and clubs to ever-increasing audiences. Eventually, Rod earned spots supporting Paddy McGuinness and Russell Brand on tour. He also won the BBC 1 Wales competition Funny Business and the Best Newcomer at the Variety Awards.
Rod expanded his CV reaching the finals of So You Think You’re Funny and appearing on Sky TV’s The Comedians. He beat several talented comedians en route to finals of the former contest, showcasing the Welshman’s talent.
On top of this Rod wrote and performed on his own radio comedy series for Radio Wales called Doing It For a Laugh. He has achieved career highlights performing for 25 nights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Royal Variety Show.
