As well as performing for those in power, Ronan has also been a regular at sporting events. He is famous for his seventh-inning stretch performances of God Bless America at Yankee Stadium as well as opening games for the Buffalo Sabres hockey team after starting an affiliation with them in 2006. He also made history becoming the first singer to perform live at Belmont Stakes, as he performed a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York. As well as sporting events, he has been a supporter of New York’s fire and police departments, in the aftermath of 9/11. He has helped raise money for those impacted by the attack, performing at various memorials and benefits.
He has also performed at the Concert of Hope, before Papal Mass at Yankee Stadium and his 2005 self-titled debut album was a worldwide success. It reached #2 on both Billboard’s Classical Crossover Chart and the World Album Chart.
