Impressing the judges with her rendition of Aretha Franklin’s (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, Ruth became known as one of the most formidable contestants on the show. Since then, Ruth has acquired an enviable reputation as one of the greatest songwriters the show has ever seen.
Under the guidance of celebrity judge Dannii Minogue, Ruth continued to display her incredible vocal skills throughout the show. Having performed powerful renditions of Take My Breath Away, Purple Rain and Love Ain’t Here Anymore, Ruth eventually went on to finish in fifth place on the show. Following her appearance on the talent show, Ruth continued to perform at venues across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Following interest from the Spanish television channel Cuatro, she composed two songs, Te Puedo Ver and Quiero Ser Valiente, especially for the network’s drama series Valientes. In addition, she also performed songwriting duties for the comeback of her old mentor, Dannii Minogue.
As a result of her success, Ruth soon came to form her very own band, The Raspberry Pattern. Relying on her incredible songwriting skills, Ruth released a number of her most notable songs, including Burn, Love Is Dead and Pain. Soon after, Ruth began working on her very first full-length studio album, Planeta Azul. Released in 2014, the album featured a vast number of new and exciting compositions, including Dancing in the Rain, Gigantes, Vulnerable, Renuncio, Rey De Corazones, Inevitable, Flamingos and 99. Ruth’s vast popularity as one of the best-loved Spanish singers saw the album perform well in the Spanish Singles Chart.
Following the success of her single Dancing in the Rain, Ruth was selected to represent her home country in the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Her success at the event saw her return to the Eurovision Song Contest as a judge in 2015. Ruth’s second studio album, Loveaholic, was released in 2018. Building further upon her musical prowess, the album saw Ruth collaborate with acclaimed British guitarist Jeff Beck.
