Suspiciously Elvis was created in the year 2000 after Ivor Potter was told by Cher that he sounded remarkably like Elvis, during a performance. Over the last 22 years, the show has evolved to become the leading Elvis tribute act with the One Night In Vegas Show becoming one of the UK’s most highly sought performances, boasting residency at the world-famous Hippodrome Casino in London.
Naturally, to execute such a high standard of production value, the most talented artists are required to deliver the glamour and phenomenal musicianship necessary. Starting with the drummer Tony Browns, who from an early age developed a passion for the drums. The outstanding drummer has closely studied hours of original Elvis footage to recreate the famous playful style Elvis had with the drums. The second member, Mike Drinkwater is a classically trained musician who has been writing music since he was six. His music has been featured in ballet, on TV and in theatre. As the musical director, Mike is responsible for creating the authentic Elvis arrangements.
The lead guitarist, Darren Loveday has played with a plethora of leading musicians including, Brian May, Billy Ocean, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Mica Paris, Marti Pellow, and Elvis’s very own guitarist James Burton. Darren Rehu is a bass guitarist, known for playing bass in Jesus Christ Superstar, he studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and has worked with major artists throughout the 90s including Jamiroquai. The lead backing vocal, Rietta Austen is a well-established vocalist, with credits opening in the O2 in London and performing at the Glastonbury Festival with Dame Shirley. Having performed world wide she has supported Bryan Adams and appeared in the musicals Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar.
To add the Vegas glamour, Suspiciously Elvis is supported by The Nevada Horns and The Memphis Belles Feathergirl Dancers who bring that authentic Elvis showmanship to the show. Able to perform to 20,000, 800 or 100 people, Suspiciously Elvis has a range of options that suit all budgets. They promise the highest standard in musicianship, performance, and production value to deliver the most outstanding Elvis tribute show.
