Abz performed in front of Simon Cowell and a panel of managers for a place in the boy band 5ive, impressively he was chosen over 3,000 auditionees. This led to huge international success and many awards while in the band, including an MTV Award, ASCAP Award for songwriting and a BRIT Award for Best Pop Act in 2000. Along with Jason Brown and Sean Conlon, Abz was heavily involved in writing some of the bands huge hits from If Ya Gettin' Down to Everybody Get Up and Keep On Movin.
The band sold over twenty million records. Abz then signed with Sony BMG by Simon Cowell following the bands split and became the only band member to release a solo album. This album was called Abstract Theory and consisted of three top ten hits in the UK Singles Chart from Miss Perfect at number five to What You Got at number four and Stop Sign at Number ten.
Leaving his music career behind for at least a decade he then released a comedy track called, Cockadoodledoo in 2016 in the hope to raise money for his farming project. Abz has become an extremely recognisable face across television from appearing on 2013 All Star Mr & Mrs, finishing as runner-up on Channel 5's Celebrity Big Brother in 2015 and taking part in ITV2's The Big Reunion in 2012.
