Immensely popular with the X Factor's television audience, Ben received the most public votes for several weeks of the show, an achievement which eventually crowned him the winner. Having started performing at the early age of 15, Ben had already began to amass a wealth of performance experience prior to his X Factor audition. He played in the rock and roll band The Lost Audio, honing his musical craft in the process. Before achieving celebrity status, he worked as a van driver. However, his life would completely change following his audition for The X Factor.
Performing Bill Withers’ iconic song Ain’t No Sunshine, Ben wowed the judges and was unanimously voted through to the next round. His run on The X Factor saw Ben perform an eclectic mix of songs, including The Eagles’ Hotel California and Please Come Home For Christmas, The Rolling Stones’ Wild Horses, Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror, The Beatles’ With a Little Help from My Friends and Imagine Dragons’ Demons. Through the mentorship of Simon Cowell, his stellar performances saw him confidently progress through the competition, taking first place amongst fierce competition from his peers.
His performances on The X-Factor saw Ben take his first steps towards becoming one of the most famous British singers in pop music today. Shortly after the show ended, Ben released his debut single, a powerful rendition of OneRepublic’s Something I Need. The popularity of his performance saw the single receive a further release, which included some of his best performances on the show. A vast commercial success, the single sold in excess of 200,000 copies in its very first week, eventually becoming the Christmas number one.
Ben was quickly picked up by Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Music and began working on musical material for his debut album. His very first full-length release, Ben Haenow, produced a number of notable singles, including Something I Need and Second Hand Heart. The latter track saw Ben collaborate with iconic American singer Kelly Clarkson, who featured on the song. Several years later, Ben continued to work on new musical material, releasing singles like Alive, Rising and Forgive & Forget. In doing so, Ben continues to establish himself as one of the most notable UK singers around.
Widely appreciated for his powerful voice and incredible charm, Ben Haenow’s performance is a thrill to witness. Having enjoyed success touring across the country, Ben is the perfect performer for corporate entertainment and music venues alike. Whatever the occasion, the singer-songwriter continues to blow away audiences wherever he goes.
