For many years Phinesta has performed music close to her heart. From the down-home blues sound of "Dr. Feelgood" to the 90's dance/club hit of "Deeper Love", Aretha Franklin has been an ever presence star in the world of popular music. Her songs have been a source of inspiration for more than 35 years for Phinesta personally. She has one of the warmest, sultry voices that lends itself to a versatile genre of music. The precious vocal tones of soul, jazz and blues music are evident in the selection of songs chosen during Phinesta's performances.
Phinesta is originally from the Mardi Gras City. She started her professional career singing in talent shows around the city. She sang lead as part of the band "MIXX Company" and performed on the infamous Bourbon Street in the French Quarter for many years. During high school and while attending Dillard University, Phinesta always took a major part in the music community, as part of the concert choir and studying music therapy. During her early years, she sang in the children's choir at church. Her family was then and is still, very musically oriented.
