Award-winning dancer George Sampson is best known for winning series two of Britain's Got Talent in 2008 at the age of fourteen. He then went on to star in a west end production of Into The Hoods along with appearing in the likes of Waterloo Road and Street Dance 3D. George is an official ambassador of the United Dance Organisation.
George won the hearts of the judges and viewers in 2008 when he burst onto the stage of Britain's Got Talent as just a fourteen-year-old boy who was immensely talented at dancing. He flew his way through to the final where he re-performed The Mint Royale version of Singing in the Rain and proceeded to win the whole competition. Following George's performance, this version of Singing In The Rain went to number one in the UK on download sales alone.
Following his Britain's Got Talent victory he went on to star in the West End hip-hop production of Into The Hoods. His debut show was on 4 August 2008 and was played at Novello Theatre in London featuring music from artists such as Basement Jaxx, Gorillaz and Massive Attack. His next big career highlight came when he starred as Eddie in Street Dance 3D, kickstarting his acting career. This lead to him landing various acting roles in dramas including Waterloo Road, Emmerdale and Mount Pleasant.
Prior to winning Britain's Got Talent, he rose to victory in the under sixteen category in the United Dance Organisation's 2007 World Street Dance Championships. In 2008 he returned to the Blackpool Winter Gardens to perform with dance group A2AA and accepted an award for his contributions to raising the profile of Street Dance. This was awarded by UDO Chairman Simon Dibley. The same year he was awarded Favourite Winner at the 2008 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
