Jon Culshaw is one of the leading impressionist comedians in the UK and is even often referred to as the ‘king of impressions’. He can bring an incredible catalogue of characters, currently upwards of 350. Jon imitates famous politicians, actors and film characters with a stunning exactness that has brought him worldwide fame. His portrayals of such celebrities as Simon Cowell, George Bush, William Hague, Noel Edmonds and Chris Tarrant were celebrated by the audience of Dead Ringers which was hugely popular on British radio and television during the noughties and beyond.
Before that Jon began to attract attention after taking his impressions to Radio 1, pretending to imitate Patrick Moore or Obi-Wan Kenobi on the phone to unsuspecting commercial organisations about whether they could service his X-Wing fighter. Jon claimed an impressive victory after adopting the voice of William Hague and fooling the switchboard operators at number 10 to get through to the Prime Minister, Tony Blair. The incident made international headlines.
Jon became a firm feature on BBC comedy shows, including Spitting Image and 2DTV, and a host of radio shows. Jon has established himself as a household name, providing endless laughs. Jon has been a constant presence on television and radio over the past twenty-five years. He has 36 acting credits and an impressive 138 television credits over some of the biggest panel and talks shows in the country. He has taken to the famous dictionary corner on several occasions on hit show Countdown and was popular as a co-host in Secrets of the National Trust with Alan Titchmarsh in 2017. He has voiced parts for the famous children’s television series, Horrible Histories and has had further success in specific impressionist shows, The Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson and Newzoids, in addition to his Dead Ringers stardom.
