Lorraine and The Flames are a phenomenal five-piece jazz band based in the UK. Comprised of five distinguished members all with profound experience and talent, this band has a spectacular repertoire, and their professionalism is out of this world. Carefully selected sets, based on exciting melodies from the Great American Songbook, the band also perform contemporary jazzy numbers perfect for both club and corporate dinners.
The Lead vocalist Lorraine is a highly accomplished, elegant, and stylish singer with exceptional vocals. Inspired by her idols Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra Streisand, Lorraine began focusing on her music again, recently creating a selection of original songs and covers demonstrating confident powerful vocals. Honing her vocals further to produce an exceptionally smooth and soulful blend of jazz and pop with Celtic undertones, Lorraine began singing at the age of five and starred in several schools plays before landing the lead role in Snow White at Dublin’s National Theatre.
The second member of the group Mike is a double bass and bass guitar player, also a talented producer and composer, he recently wrote and performed with country artist and TV presenter Laura Evan, West end musical legend Oliver Tompsett and 90’s band Curiosity Killed the Cat. Very well known on the London Jazz scene, he performed with several of its stars in some of the most prestigious venues. The third member Pete plays the electric guitar, most recently he completed the fourth international tour of MGP records promoting his albums Meridian and Circus in the Sky. He has an abundance of experience touring the country and is a respected music lecturer.
The fourth member is Robert who plays the Keyboard, showing great musical talent from the age of four, he rapidly learned how to read, write, and play several musical instruments. Exceptionally talented, he played and recorded for prominent artists such as The Supremes, Cliff Richard, Kim Wilde, and Rietta Austin. Last but not least, John, is an extraordinary drummer who studied for four years at the National Academy of Rudimentary Drummers of Australia under renowned tutor Harry Leber. The combination of the latter is truly outstanding and comes across in their performance, with the ability to cater for all kinds of tastes, they are the perfect band of the old world or contemporary jazz.
