Choosing not to go to university was a great decision for Mae, it taught her to work hard and led her to kick-starting her music career. Aided by her friend who had experience in Logic Pro and guitar, Mae produced her first big hit Close. Unable to pay him with cash, all she could afford was a bottle of wine for his help. However, soon her circumstance would change for the better, within a short period she received so much attention for the song that she quit her job to focus full-time on her music career.
Mae released Close on SoundCloud, then after uploading a video of her singing on Instagram her music career was propelled to new heights when she was discovered by her current manager. Although she initially had concerns about her lack of writing experience, she went on to debut her extended play After Hours which was released in 2018. It was very well-received and described as bold by a leading UK-based music magazine.
Following the success of her first EP, Mae went on to release her second, which was received with as much praise and interest as her first. In 2019 Mae released her debut studio album Chapter 1 and later became a supporting act for Little Mix with boy band New Rules on the LM5 tour in the UK. Immediately after, Mae releases her single Therapist and announced her first national tour where she visited five cities in the UK. In 2020 she released her third EP No One Else, Not Even You. Most recently, Mae was announced as the UK's official 2023 Eurovision Song Contest entry.
In addition to making a phenomenal transformation in the music industry, this exciting pop and R&B star has made appearances on When You’re Out as a guest vocalist demonstrating the power of her vocals. In 2021 Mae did a collaboration with Neiked and Polo G on the Single Better Days, which climbed from 57 to 40 within two weeks! Mae is a very exciting up-and-coming artist with extraordinary vocals.
