Specialising in pop and R&B, Misunderstood are an all singing all dancing duo available for events. Their fully formed, fully choreographed act has already earned success on The X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent, reflecting the duo's unbeatable talent. Stepping onto the scene in 2010, they continue to release music and perform at venues up and down the country. Misunderstood are not just talented, but likeable and professional, encouraging their fans to "be you, love who you are, and be Misunderstood."
Founded by Stephen Benson and Jeffrey Okyere, Misunderstood is made up of BRIT school graduates. Having already established themselves as part of the unique singing dance troupe Myztikal, the duo decided to form Misunderstood after the 2010 series of Britain's Got Talent. Myztikal made it to the semi-finals, giving Stephen and Jeffrey the taste of success that drove them to create their own group. Since then, they have performed alongside Britney Spears and Little Mix, as well as the pop powerhouse, will.i.am.
Titled Misunderstood to reference the power of being different, how differences make us special and the benefits of being misunderstood, it is impossible not to fall in love with this act. Their ethos drives the duo's original flair, that Simon Cowell described as "indefinable". Misunderstood were influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot and Beyonce, artists which are celebrated for their memorable performances. Evident in their own performances, Misunderstood embody the confidence, enthusiasm and talent of their inspirations.
While competing on the 2018 series of The X-Factor, Misunderstood performed their own song, Juicy Fruit, which was met with a standing ovation from the judges. Robbie Williams stated that the duo "were born to do this". Bubbly, lively and talented beyond belief, if any act can get the party started it is this one. Misunderstood have the fiery beats and slick choreography to fill a dance floor, creating a truly memorable event.
