After training at the Gillian Farr School of Dance, Sue was scouted to act in the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime by Gerry Jerome. Aged just 15, Sue showed her talent for entertaining and later went on to play Flora in The Innocents national tour by Bill Kenwright. Since then, Sue has forged a reputation for her character Mimi Labonq in the BBC sitcom Allo, Allo! which focuses on the life of a French café owner during the German occupation of France. Sue was a favourite on the show as Mimi, and was later invited back to play Mimi Labonq in both The Return of Allo, Allo! and the Allo, Allo! stage show.
Other prominent roles of Sue’s include paying Force of Darkness in Brazil, Connie in The Lads Club and Nurse Mimi in Robin Hood. Today, Sue is a talented director, choreographer and screen performer, travelling the country performing her one-woman solo shows Mimi and Me (Allo Again). She has also authored her own book, titled Mimi’s Memoirs, and appeared in the Vicar of Dibley stage show. She also toured the UK in the musicals Crazy For You and Menopause, The Musical.
