Jack Tempchin, writer of ‘Peaceful Easy Feeling’, ‘Girl from Yesterday’, ‘Already Gone’, and many other Eagles songs commented: ‘Talon interpret and perform our songs with reverence and super talent. They are all absolutely first-rate musicians, as good as any I have come across.’ Having celebrated their 20th anniversary, the rock band is well placed to provide first-rate live entertainment.
Chris Lloyd recreates Don Henley’s vocal range to a tee, with Tony Vegas bringing up Meisner and Walsh’s vocals perfectly. The instruments are not without their heroes as Tony channels the essence of Leadon, Felder, and Walsh in his country, jazz, and rock licks. Multi-instrumentalists, Peter Anderson and Jonny Miller, back up Lloyd with backing vocals as well as tunes of their own. Charlie Kenny, Freddie Miller, and Keith Buck of Wishbone Ash fame round out the supergroup.
This ensemble weave rhythm over bass with each member adding to the rich tapestry of every track they play. Audiences can expect to see a live band versed in keyboard, drums, and guitars. Much like their idols, Talon are a national treasure having performed shows across the UK. The group have had the plaudits come their way with wins in several categories at the ‘National Tribute Music Awards’ such as; ‘Official UK No.1 (Eagles tribute show)’, ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, and ‘Best Band’ (in all categories).
