Nick Grimshaw is a British television and radio presenter, he is best known for his work on BBC Radio 1 including hosting The Breakfast Show and drive time show. He also appeared on Channel Four shows T4 and The Album Chart Show and ITV’s X Factor. Being a radio presenter, Nick is a fantastic entertainer. He has a natural talent for speaking in front of audiences and keeping them engaged and laughing. Whilst attending the University of Liverpool, Nicks devotion to radio began when he became a member of the student radio station.
Two years later in 2007, he joined BBC Radio 1 and hosted a brand new youth show named Switch alongside friend and fellow DJ Annie Mac. After hosting solo for nine months whilst Mac hosted a weekend lunchtime slot, Nick eventually became host of the weekends breakfast show and the midnight slot. He has also made many television appearances such as being a judge on the twelfth series of the X Factor and being a regular co-presenter on The One Show. Grimshaw was finally made the presenter of the well loved BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, for six years.
He is now the presenter of the drive time slot from four until seven in the evening. In 2014, he completed a 12 hour bicycle ride for sport relief raising more than £115,000. Nick has also done a lot of work within the LGBTQ+ community, he was number eight on The Independent on Sunday’s list of the 101 most influential people in Britain in 2012 and he was announced as an ambassador for The Albert Kennedy Trust, a charity helping homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
