A1 began in 1998 and achieved their first taste of chart success in 1999. Be The First To Believe charted at number six, spending 12 weeks in the UK charts. They followed this up with Summertime Of Our Lives, Everytime/Ready Or Not and Like a Rose, taking them into the Millenium with four UK top ten singles.

And the pace picked up even more as the noughties rolled in. By September 2000 that had their first UK number one with an exciting cover of Aha's Take On Me. It took them just two months to back this up, with Same Old Brand New You also taking the top spot in November 2000.

By 2001, they had won a BRIT Award for the Best Breakthrough Act. The band were the next big thing and more and more tours came about.

They quickly became one of the country's most in-demand and exciting music acts, as they scored chart-topping hits with relative consistency before band-mate Paul Marazzi stepped aside and the band disbanded due to exhaustion in 2002 after four years on tour.

The band achieved four Gold-certified singles in Scandanavia, in addition to winning silver certification in the UK for Take On Me. They since released Best of A1, Greatest Hits and Caught in the Middle: The Collection.

The band returned as a three-piece in 2009 and followed this up with various tours as well as two further albums, Waiting for Daylight (2010) and Rediscovered (2012). They also participated in ITV2 documentary, The Big Reunion which brought together some of the finest pop acts from the noughties, including Gareth Gates, Dane Bowers, Eternal and Kenzie from Blazin' Squad.

In 2017, dynamic British-Norwegian boy band, A1 announced a full lineup reunion for the first time in 15 years as Pail Marazzi rejoined Christian Ingebrigtsen, Mark Read and Ben Adams for the boy band's 20th anniversary in 2018. They later announced their UK comeback set to take place at the O2 Islington, London on 01 November 2019.
