Legendary comedian and television personality Angus Deayton is a household name within the entertainment world. Having achieved widespread success as a stand-up comedian and broadcaster, Angus’ extensive career has seen him delight crowds over the course of several decades. One of Angus’ first roles as a comedian saw him join the comedy group Oxford Revue, which showcased the comedic talents of a number of Oxford University students. Performing alongside the group at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, he soon came to form a hilarious Bee Gees cover band. Not long after, Angus became involved with Radio Active, a comedy programme broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Furthermore, Angus also came to star in the sitcom One Foot in the Grave, as well as beginning some of his first work as a television presenter on comedy show Have I Got News for You.
Following his work as a host on Have I Got News for You, Angus went on to fulfil a number of other roles in television broadcasting. He played the role of a spin-doctor on comedy programme Absolute Power, starring alongside the likes of Stephen Fry. In addition, he also featured in several other shows, including Nighty Night, Casualty and Bognor or Bust. Angus’ extensive career as a comedian has also seen him continue to entertain crowds on the live stage. His risqué, straight-talking style of comedy has won him fans the world over.
