He picked up his first guitar at the tender age of just eight and started strumming along to songs performed by time honoured musicians such as James Taylor, Don Mclean, John Denver and Buddy Holly. At the age of fifteen he entered some high profile competitions such as Britain’s Got Talent and Open Mic UK where his musical talents were first recognised. At that young age he performed with the famous 'Johnny Cash Road Show’ and also a popular Lincoln Jazz band called ‘Jazz Vehicle’ where he was one of two lead vocalists.
When Benjamin turned sixteen he signed up with a local entertainment agency and started performing nationally around the UK at various venues. At the age of seventeen he was still in education when he auditioned for a show team place to work on cruise ships. The audition was successful and he spent the next six months performing as a singer in one of the show teams working for Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson Cruises). During his time on the ships he was also given the opportunity to perform as a musician/guitar vocalist in the lounge bars where he was able to demonstrate another side of his musical ability.
With this opportunity he began to develop in other musical areas and genres and as a result, he started to grow in popularity. His audiences outgrew the small lounge bars on the ships so he was then offered the chance to perform his own show to audiences of between 400 - 800 in the ship's theatre. He eventually transitioned to become a very popular and well loved Guest Act performing his shows across the whole Marella Fleet of ships.
With five different styles of show and a repertoire of over 300 songs Benjamin has grown into a formidable and sought after Guest artist. Benjamin has performed as a U.K Guest Act on ships for nearly four years now including the cruise ship 'The WORLD', the largest privately owned cruise ship. He has also performed at numerous theatres throughout the U.K. Benjamin is also now a singer songwriter and producer of songs written by him and other lyricists.
