Recognised as one of the most globally celebrated stand up personalities, British-Congolese Eddie Kadi continues to dominate the world of comedy and was the first British Black comedian to headline the O2 Arena in London.
He is a bold, high-energy entertainer, comedian and presenter best known for his clean brand of comedy. The popular artist is celebrated all over the world and has built a large following in the UK and across Africa. Launching his comedy career in 2006, he rapidly showcased his outstanding comedic talent, going on to win the BECA Award for Best Comedy Newcomer in his first year. In 2010, he became the first British black comedian to headline at the O2 Arena, where he performed for over 13,000 people. The accomplished artist has also performed sell-out shows at the Indigo and Hackney Empire and has made appearances at international festivals, such as The Joburgh Comedy Festival, African Laughs and Night of a Thousand Laughs.
Possessing an exceptional onstage presence, Eddie has hosted several prestigious events, including the official red carpet show for BET International and BET Africa in Los Angeles, as well as being the main stage host for the Afro Nation Festivals across the world. He has hosted the prestigious MOBO Awards and appeared on numerous TV formats including Strictly Come Dancing (BBC), Blankety Blank (BBC), The National Comedy Awards (Channel 4), Tonight with Target (BBC), +44 Presents: The Noughties Podcast, Don’t Hate the Playaz (ITV), and Road to Afro Nation: Davido Live (YouTube). He has also toured with Afrobeat’s superstar musician Wizkid and presented the All African Music Awards with Pearl Thusi. Furthermore, Eddie served as host of the Powernomics Show, which was headlined by leading musicians Lauryn Hill and Nas.
A remarkable content creator, Eddie produced My African Passport for Vox Africa, a travel show where he explored a variety of different cultures across Africa. He went on to curate and host PANAFROLINK, a PanAfrican global conversation platform, which attracted distinguished guests, such as NBA superstar Luol Deng, Malcolm X’s daughter and actor Damson Idris. A highly articulate speaker, Eddie has delivered multiple keynote speeches for TED Talks and was invited to front TEDxEuston, which was attended by renowned personalities, including Amadou Gallo Fall, Madame Luisa Diogo and Zeinab Badawi.
In 2023, Eddie was nominated for both the prestigious Royal Television Society Best Breakthrough Award and Best Breakthrough Presenter at the Edinburgh TV Awards. He also fronts his own documentary format, My Super Rich Holiday for Channel 4 and is a Team Captain on ITV’s multi award winning entertainment format Sorry I Didn’t Know. Moreover, Eddie has extensive experience in broadcasting, having served as a pundit for ESPN’s football show Talk of the Terrace and contributed to Sky Sports Tinga Tinga Tale animated series. Recently he was named the host of BBC 1 Xtra’s weekly Afrobeats Show. He has also made several appearances on shows, including Virtually Famous, Lenny Henry and QI with Stephen Fry.
