Justin Moorhouse is an accomplished stand-up comedian, actor and entertainer available for bookings through Champions Music & Entertainment. A Mancunian comic who spins humorous yarns, Justin is a hit at private and corporate events alike bringing Northern charm and star status. Justin first began his career in comedy performing stand-up routines in local comedy competitions. This led to his big break, as 2002 saw him reach and win the final of a comedy competition at the Comedy Store in Manchester. Spurred on by this success he developed a comedy tour and was noticed by Channel 4, eventually getting the role of Young Kenny in Phoenix Nights.
Broadcast by Channel 4, Phoenix Nights was a national phenomenon and a massive boon for its cast. With two seasons, several spin-off series, 8 nominations and 5 wins, including awards from the Royal Television Society and the British Comedy Awards, it cemented Justin’s place as a professional actor and comedian. Justin went on to have great success in the wake of Phoenix Nights, starring in Buried, a drama produced by Channel 4. He also played guest roles popular sitcoms such as Still Open All Hours and Max & Paddy’s Road to Nowhere.
In the latter, he reprised the role of the simple-minded Young Kenny. Justin even appeared in a feature-length film on Looking for Eric directed by Ken Loach. 2010 saw Justin expand his horizons appearing on stage for the first time. He starred in Harold Brighouse’s famous play Zack at the Royal Exchange in Manchester. Justin has kept his comedy act sharp alongside all these credits appearing in Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and the highly-rated Live at the Apollo. He appeared as himself on Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live and won an episode of Celebrity Mastermind.
His specialist subject was the famed comedian Les Dawson. Justin also had a run as Dean Upton in the British soap opera Coronation Street. This talented comic has even graced the airwaves in his local Manchester and nationally. Most notably he wrote and appeared on his own BBC Radio 4 sitcom entitled Everyone Quite Likes Justin. Justin keeps in contact with his fans on his hilarious podcast About 30 Minutes, Never More Than 45.
