Formed in 2012, Lion Babe is an R&B duo, comprised of Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman. Named after Lucas’ horoscope and Jillian’s hairstyle, Lion Babe released their first song Treat Me Like Fire in 2012. Fast forward to the present, and Lion Babe continue to perform at gigs worldwide, entertaining audiences with their rhythm and blues. Having collaborated with artists such as Childish Gambino, Pharrell Williams and Mark Ronson, this talented R&B duo is a fantastic addition to events of all kinds!
After initially wanting to pursue a career in dancing, Jillian contacted Lucas for original music on a dance assignment and they began discussing collaborating together. Releasing their first song in 2012, Lion Babe has since released singles such as Jump Hi (featuring Childish Gambino), Honey Dew, Hot in Herre, Native New Yorker and Western World. They have also released the EP titled Lion Babe and the albums Begin, Cosmic Wind and Rainbow Child. The duo has also been invited to headline some of the world’s most-loved festivals, having performed at Lollapalooza in 2015.
Taking influence from artists such as Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan and Pharrell Williams, Lion Babe takes inspiration from some of the world’s most-loved musicians. Throughout their career so far, Lion Babe has been recognised numerous times on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists interactive charts. With their song Jump Hi, they peaked at No.9 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists and with their song Wonder Woman, they peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists charts. They were also named as the October 2016 Elvis Duran Artist of the Month and performed on NBC’s Today with a cover of She’s a Lady by Tom Jones.
