Thereza Bazar rose to fame as one half of the iconic pop duo Dollar, helping define the sound and style of late 70s and 80s British pop. Known for glamorous visuals, polished production and infectious melodies, Dollar became synonymous with chart success and era-defining hits that remain beloved today.
Before forming Dollar, Thereza achieved early success in her late teens as a member of the 1970s vocal and dance group Guys 'n' Dolls, who scored a 1975 hit with There’s A Whole Lot of Lovin’. In 1977, she partnered with David Van Day to form Dollar, and the duo quickly rose to prominence with a string of stylish, radio-friendly pop singles.
Dollar went on to achieve ten UK Top 40 hits, including 'Love’s Gotta Hold on Me', 'Mirror Mirror', 'Give Me Back My Heart' and 'Oh L’amour', which reached the UK Top 10 in 1988 and became their final major hit. Their polished sound, fashion-forward image and strong visual identity helped cement their place in British pop history. Thereza also released a solo album, 'The Big Kiss', in 1985, further showcasing her vocal versatility.
Now performing alongside new musical partner Stephen Fox, Thereza Bazar returns to the stage to relive the astonishing success of Dollar for the first time in over 20 years. Delivering much-loved classics such as 'Hand Held in Black and White', 'Mirror Mirror' and 'Videotheque', her live show celebrates the golden era of 80s British pop with authenticity, nostalgia and timeless appeal.
