DJ Pied Piper is a world-renowned DJ and iconic personality. Famed for his stupendous hit single, Do You Really Like It, which continues to enjoy widespread play today - there is no doubting his positioning as one of the most important DJs of the nineties and noughties. Having featured as a member of popular 90's hip-hop groups, Hi-Jack and Da Click - he was able to establish himself as an iconic British MC, DJ and producer. Both groups enjoyed success on the underground scene and lay at the heart of the UK hip-hop community. Famous West-Coast rapper Ice T signed Hi-Jack and they even enjoyed mainstream success with chart hit, The Badman is Robbin'.
The single was followed by a charting album, The Horns of Jericho. The DJ co-founded Da Click in the late 90s, which saw his influence on the UK garage scene grow further. They appeared on Top of the Pops in 1999 with hit song Good Rhymes, based on the tune of Good Times by Chic. With a firm reputation in Brixton and London in 2000, he experimented further.
DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies was a collaboration between the producer DJ Pied PiperMC DT, Melody, Sharky P, Princess B and the Unknown MC. The group became a popular name on the garage music scene but it was Do You Really Like It that shook the world of pop. Spending 6 weeks in the top ten and charting at number one, the song became a sensation, selling 475k copies to earn Gold certification. It remains one of the most iconic hits in garage and club music and continues to be sampled by musicians around the world.
DJ Pied Piper has become a fixture of radio, making regular appearances on Kiss 100 alongside DJ EZ. He has also collaborated with the DJ at various UKG (UK Garage) events.
