Robin Ince is an English comedian, actor and comedy writer of significant fame. His acclaim has grown as a stand-up comedian, having played at some of the United Kingdom’s most glamorous venues. He is well known as a BBC radio presenter, where he discusses and converses on all things scientific with famous physicist Brian Cox on The Infinite Monkey Cage. The nineties brought Robin’s first outing with a stand-up show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and he appeared a decade later alongside close friends Stephen Merchant, Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr at the Rubbernecker show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In between, Robin wrote for a host of television series including The Big Impression, The 11 O’clock Show and Meet Ricky Gervais. As a stand-up comedian, Ince supported Ricky Gervais on his 2004 Politics and 2007 Fame tours. He is a regular fixture on Ricky Gervais’ popular podcasts where he regularly banters with the star. 2008 saw the release of his live comedy DVD, Robin Ince is as Dumb as You. Soon after he performed 51 dates of his Bleeding Heart Liberal tour.
Robin Ince vs. Moral Majority followed in 2010 before Happiness Through Science came in 2011 and was extended to the following year. He then teamed up with esteemed physicist Brian Cox to present the hugely popular science show, The Infinite Monkey Cage which has taken BBC Radio 4 listeners by storm. The show has won a host of awards and is widely lauded for its scientific outlook, with a neat comedic twist. The show opens up on a variety of scientific topics, asking questions and finding answers.
