Roisin Conaty

The award saw Roisin become one of just five women to have scooped the award at the festival in 30 years.

Buoyed by this success, Roisin has since gone on to carve out a successful career in comedy, appearing in TV and film. Just some of Roisin’s notable TV appearances include Channel 4’s Man Down, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Insert Name Here and the BAFTA-nominated Taskmaster. Roisin also appeared in the movie, David Brent: Life on the Road which starred Ricky Gervais.

Roisin turned her skills to comedy writing and in 2014 the pilot of her sitcom, GameFace, aired. Well received, GameFace was commissioned as a six-episode series on E4. Following the antics of lead character, Marcella, played by Roisin, the series follows Marcella as she navigates the world of becoming an actress. Created and written by Roisin, GameFace demonstrates Roisin’s fantastic comedy-acting skills.

Roisin can also be seen in Celebrity Great British Bake Off 2018 which aims to raise money for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer appeal.
